My name is Cora Gray, and I am so excited to be working with Kimmel Ranch Partnerships as the executive administrator. My name is Cora Gray, and I am so excited to be working with Kimmel Ranch Partnerships as the executive administrator. I am originally from the central coast of California, but due to my father’s job grew up all over the western and southern United States including Colorado, Kansas, Alabama and Butte, Montana. While I didn’t grow up directly in the agriculture world, I like to say I grew up adjacent to it. My parents ran 500 head of sheep when they were first married and both sides of my family ran cattle and homesteaded in northern California years ago. I grew up connected to my roots and where I came from via 4H, and always wanted to delve deeper into the ranching and agriculture I didn’t know much about. I attended University of Wyoming in Laramie and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management with minors in Soil Science and Agroecology. While I am not originally from Malta or Montana, I knew I wanted to be in a small town in the west after graduation. The job that originally brought me up to the Hi-Line was a partner position with the NRCS. After some time with the NRCS I moved to MTFWP for a few months before this opportunity came along. Growing up moving all the time, I was ready to put down permanent roots. I met my husband here in Malta, and we welcomed our first child in February of 2024. I would say my roots have been established and grown deep in the Montana prairie I have come to love so much!
